Summary

Districts across America are experiencing a monumental shift in their approach to teaching and learning. These schools recognize that today's generation Z / iGen students think and feel differently about learning then past generations. The session will unlock the power of authentic student engagement to break the mold of traditional learning experiences. This is imperative to the architectural and construction process because each generation of students has their own unique set of needs that we must pay attention to so we provide them the spaces in which to learn best. Trends in educational research change so we must change to meet this new information we learn.

Learning Objective #1: Understand the characteristics of Generation Z students.

Learning Objective #3: Understand the need for shifts in classroom instruction and possible strategies associated with the needs.
